Atlanta Falcons: Three easiest games in 2016
2. Chargers at home
There’s a lot to like about the San Diego Chargers’ roster, if you’re focusing on offense that is. The injury bug wiped out a number of key players on offense, but free agency might ensure many of them don’t return. The Chargers are facing a possibility of entering the 2016 season without Antonio Gates, Malcom Floyd and Ladarius Green – all three are important pieces at the skill positions.
Melvin Gordon couldn’t have asked for a rougher rookie season. The former Wisconsin Badger rushed 641 yards, no touchdowns and fumbled five times. He was never able to get any kind of momentum. Gordon wasn’t helped by his offensive line, but it was still a majorly disappointing season for the 15th overall pick in last year’s draft.
San Diego has a lot of work to do this offseason to fix a defense that finished No. 27 against the run. The unit will need to be much improved when Devonta Freeman is lined up opposite them.
As long as Philip Rivers is the quarterback, the Chargers will be able to beat any team on any given day, but there are a lot of holes ont he roster that should put the advantage in Atlanta’s corner with the game being played inside the Georgia Dome.
