Notre Dame wide receiver Will Fuller has been shredding defenses for the past two years in South Bend and now wants to take his talents to Atlanta and team up with Matt Ryan and the Falcons.

Fuller told media today that his favorite NFL team is the Atlanta Falcons and has been a fan ever since the Michael Vick days. He also has ties to the Falcons through Ryan. Ryan grew up not to far away from Fuller in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was college teammates with Ryan’s cousin, offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey.

Fuller is the No. 5 ranked receiver out of this year’s draft according to CBS sports and is a second-round projection. It is unclear at this point whether or not the Falcons will use that high of a draft pick on a receiver, but it’s definitely a possibility.

Fuller clocks in at 6-0, 184 pounds which is a near identical comparison to Roddy White. Fuller isn’t quite as heavy as White is, but their height is the same and could provide the Falcons with a very good No. 2 option opposite of Julio Jones.

Fuller had a down-right amazing 2015 season with Notre Dame. He caught 62 passes for 1,258 yards and caught 14 touchdowns. That gave Fuller a 20.3 average per catch which is unheard of, even at the college football level.

Fuller also hit the 1,000-yard mark in 2014 after catching 76 passes for 1,094 yards and scored 15 times.

Fuller can take the top off of a defense and has extremely good acceleration. He times his jumps exceptionally well and rarely ever misjudges downfield throws. He isn’t the best at breaking tackles, but he’s a very good route runner and understands field leverage.

He is a big-time playmaker and will have a long, successful NFL career if he finds the right home. Let’s hope that home is with the Falcons.

Fuller had an informal meeting with the Falcons last night and will have a scheduled meeting sometime in the next few days.

Thoughts on possibly drafting Fuller in the second round?
