Mohamed Sanu is reliable

Having a wide receiver that is reliable is crucial to a teams’ success. When a quarterback throws a pass to a receiver, he’s expected to make the catch. If a quarterback has the least bit of doubt in a receiver, that could be detrimental to a team.

Confidence is key. Seeing Matt Ryan throw passes to Julio Jones is a thing of beauty. They know each other extremely well and there’s not a throw out there that Ryan doesn’t think he can make when it’s targeted for Jones.

What got the Falcons into trouble a season ago was a lack of production out of Roddy White. He wasn’t getting open quick enough. That’s all there was too it. People can argue that he wasn’t targeted enough and this and that and this and that but at the end of the day, he wasn’t targeted a lot because he wasn’t open a lot. While Ryan would never admit it, he wasn’t confident in White to make a big catch and that’s probably one of the reasons why White is no longer on the team.

Mohamed Sanu is a very reliable receiver. He’s always been very healthy and rarely drops passes. He did not drop any passes in 2015 and has just 15 drops in 153 career catches.

If you throw the ball toward Sanu, there’s a pretty good chance that he’s going to make the catch and on a team in which the defense will put their best corner on Jones and leave Sanu matched up with a sub-par defender, he could be extremely effective.
