6 De’Vondre Campbell – WILL

The Falcons used their 2016 fourth-round pick on weak side linebacker De’Vondre Campbell and that made a lot of people scratch their heads. He didn’t have a fourth-round grade but oh well. Here he is and there’s nothing we can do about it. Atlanta wasn’t kidding when they said they wanted to draft speed at the linebacking position. Campbell was one of the quickest players in the draft and his speed alone will win him a spot on the 53-man roster.

What can we expect out of this rookie in 2016? We can expect him to play a ton of special teams and also some at weak side linebacker as Sean Weatherspoon’s backup. And in nickel situations we could see him as the starter, but don’t expect that to be the case right away.

Campbell is as raw as it gets. He is a project player to say the least so it will take him some time before he’s ready to rock and roll. We will see him play, but very sparingly I would imagine. We will just have to wait and see just how impactful he can be.
