Atlanta Falcons: Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen are future superstars
Atlanta Falcons’ safeties Ricardo Allen and Keanu Neal are going to turn a lot of heads by the end of the 2016 season
The Atlanta Falcons have a lot to be excited about heading into 2016.
There is a ton of young talent and stars on both sides of the ball, but one group that stands out is Atlanta’s young safety duo. Free safety Ricardo Allen is heading into year two as a starter and strong safety Keanu Neal is heading into his rookie season.
The talent level at these two positions is through the roof. These two players have the potential to be a top five safety duo for many years in the NFL and that should have Falcons’ fans extremely excited.
We all know how knowledgable Dan Quinn is when it comes to NFL defense’s. He stepped right in and converted Allen into a free safety after spending one season as a practice squad cornerback and drafted arguably the toughest strong safety in the 2016 draft in Neal.

The Falcons have the best of both worlds in these two players. They have a hard-hitting brute in Neal that will be a spoken leader and a feared competitor, and they have a free-spirited, smart player in Allen.
I don’t think we realize just how good these two players could be in the NFL in just a short time. It’s pretty obvious that Quinn is working this defense from the top down and he’s starting with the secondary.
Sure, there’s going to be some times where we are extremely upset with these two players. They’re young and still have a lot to learn about how to play in the NFL, but the potential is clearly there. And having a coach like Quinn that knows what a superstar secondary looks like, they’re in extremely good hands.

This might not be a top 10 defense in 2016, but you best believe that the secondary will be as good as advertised and that all starts with the two young safeties.
