All the information you’ll need to watch your Atlanta Falcons take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI at NRG Stadium in Houston.
It’s the battle for the Lombardi Trophy, Super Bowl LI in Houston, and for just the second time in the franchise’s 51-year history, the Atlanta Falcons are playing for the title.
In the way of NFL MVP Matt Ryan and the Falcons are the four-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. It is the ninth Super Bowl appearance overall for the Patriots, the seventh under head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady.
The Falcons were the highest-scoring team in the NFL this season, running up an average of 33.8 points per game–seventh-most in NFL history–while New England surrendered the fewest points in the league, allowing just 15.6 points per game.
Including the playoffs, Atlanta has won six straight games, including a pair of postseason blowouts over the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers by a combined count of 80-41.
The Patriots haven’t lost since Nov. 13 and have won nine in a row overall, with playoff victories over Houston and Pittsburgh by a combined total of 70-33.
Atlanta’s only other Super Bowl appearance came after the 1998 season, when they lost in Miami to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXXIII, 34-19.
New England’s last appearance in the Super Bowl was two years ago, a 28-24 victory over the Seahawks in Glendale, Ariz., in Super Bowl XLIX.

Houston is hosting the Super Bowl for just the third time, the second at NRG Stadium.
In Super Bowl VIII after the 1973 season, the Miami Dolphins beat the Minnesota Vikings 24-7 at Rice Stadium, while the Patriots beat the Carolina Panthers 32-29 in Super Bowl XXXVIII following the 2003 season when the current facility was known as Reliant Stadium.
