Number Three: Michael Booker

In the 1997 draft, the Falcons used the 11th pick on DB Michael Booker out of Nebraska. Booker never really lived up to expectations, as he was only with the Falcons for three years, and only in the league for five. Notching three interceptions in his rookie campaign, he looked promising – but he couldn’t ever seem to reach his potential ceiling. Looking at some notable players drafted after him just adds fuel to the fire, Warrick Dunn and Tony Gonzalez were the two guys drafted immediately after him; though, both ironically ended up as Falcons later.

Notable defensive backs who could’ve served much better than Booker who were also taken in this draft include names like Sam Madison and Ronde Barber. Not to mention other players like Tiki Barber, Corey Dillon, Jason Taylor, and Mike Vrabel. It’s safe to say this top 15 pick is not one to be admired.
