Atlanta Falcons: Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman Need a Nickname

Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman of the Atlanta Falcons are the best tandem of tailbacks in the NFL. It’s time we give them a nickname.

Good things normally happen when two good things get together. For whatever reason, it seems that certain objects or people can form an untouchable combo when given the chance. These two completely different entities become one; creating something greater than themselves.

For those completely confused by where I am going with this, please bare with me. Here are just a few examples of what I am talking about:

Peanut Butter and Jelly become a delicious sandwich.

LeBron James and Dwayne Wade won not one, but two NBA Finals once joining the same team.

C-3PO and R2-D2 are much better for the Star Wars universe together than alone.

These dynamic duos are all great in their own way, but we’re here to talk about a new edition to this club; Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman. The Atlanta Falcons running backs both saw tremendous success last season. After combining for 19 touchdowns along with 2,482 total yards these two will soon be household names.

Rightfully so, the Atlanta Falcons’ passing attack gets most of the media love. I mean, how could they not with reigning MVP quarterback Matt Ryan and the other-worldly receiver Julio Jones? But, the real catalyst for their recent offensive success has been their two tailbacks. Both are gifted receivers and can make plays in the passing game. Coleman is a blazing fast player that can break long runs any time he touches the ball. Freeman on the other hand, could probably break a defender’s ankles by just looking at them wrong.

These two electrifying players are becoming stars in this league. They are just missing one thing.

A good nickname.

Not a cliche like “Thunder and Lightning” or “Fire and Ice” but one that stands out and has people saying something like “damn, that’s so cool I’m going to name my next kid after it”. Maybe not to that extent, but hopefully you see where I’m going with this. Matty Ice, Deion “Debo” Jones, TRUUUU and other Falcons players have nicknames, Tevin and Devonta are due for one
