NFC South Power Rankings Following the First Week of the NFL Pre-Season:

1. Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are one of the youngest teams in the league right now, but they also have some of the best coaching in the NFL. In Week 1, they fell to the Miami Dolphins, 23-20 but various players still showcased their abilities. This team has potential to be even better than they were last season.

2. Carolina Panthers

Unlike the Falcons, the Panthers actually won their game, defeating the Houston Texans 27-17. The Panthers are a very underrated team considering that they are very well-rounded. They have very few holes in their offense, and they also have some stars on the defensive side of the ball. Could Carolina be ready to bounce back from their woeful 2016 campaign?

Rather unexpected, the Bucs come in at #3. They fell to the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-12, partially because of unforced errors. Kicker Roberto Aguayo missed two field goals and was waived as a result, but luckily they still have Nick Folk who nailed a 47 yarder. The Bucs have a very strong offense, but their defense isn’t spectacular.

4. New Orleans Saints

The Saints have a great quarterback, an elite receiver and a strong group of backs. But that’s just about all that pops out for this team. The defense could be a lot better, as they are very easy to score against. Drafting Marshon Lattimore was a step in the right direction, but it isn’t enough to stop any of the strong offenses in the NFC South.
