In a Twitter poll, Atlanta Falcons fans said they preferred the look of the 1990s black and white uniforms over other options

There’s just something about the 1990’s Atlanta Falcons uniforms that draws the eye. They were simple, yet attractive. And in a recent Twitter poll among fans, 47 percent of participating fans agreed that the team looked best in the digs worn by former cornerback and return man “Prime Time” Deion Sanders and wide receiver Andre Rison.

It was a quick poll put up and in an eight-hour period the 1990’s style won by 27 percent over the current look. Of course, the current look wasn’t even in second place with its 20 percent as 24 percent were simply ready for any kind of change whatsoever.

From the early 1990’s up until the early 2000’s the Falcons wore the slick uniforms and people as talented as quarterback Michael Vick and Jamal Anderson wore the old jerseys.

Then the league starting switching from the simplistic color-scheme to the arena-esque feel of some of the new age looks of the early 2000’s.

Teams like the Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals all started messing around with the mixture of colors on the shirt.

Sleeves were no longer simple, but instead laced with designs, stripes or just some nasty looking flat color all together — like the Bill jerseys with the awful sleeves.

Of course the Bills and Vikings have since returned to the simpler scheme, and they both look better for it. Maybe the Falcons can learn from that and clean up their look a little — or go old school with the 90s theme as the base.
