Atlanta Falcons: Practice squad set, Falcons sign 10
By Randy Gurzi
After cutting their roster from 90 down to 53 on Saturday, the Atlanta Falcons have now added 10 guys via their practice squad
Cut down day was brutal for the NFL following the 2017 NFL Preseason. This was the first year that there was no tiered releasing being done, but instead all franchises had to get down to the 53-man roster by 4:00 PM EST on Saturday, September 2. The Atlanta Falcons did just that, but releasing several players — and making a trade for one as well in Ty Sambrailo from the Denver Broncos.
In the aftermath of all those lost jobs, players were being claimed, traded and again cast off left and right. So much activity was going on that it could be understandable to have missed some of the other moves, like players being brought back to the practice squad.

The Falcons signed 10 such guys this weekend, and here is the list courtesy of the site NFL Trade Rumors:
Marcelis Branch, defensive back
Daniel Brunskill, offensive tackle
Deante Burton, wide receiver
Alex Gray, tight end
Marvin Hall, wide receiver
J.T. Jones, defensive end
Joshua Perkins, tight end
Jhurell Pressley, running back
Taniela Tupou, defensive tackle
Joe Vellano, defensive tackle
The most upsetting name missing from this list is wide receiver Reggie Davis. The undrafted kid from UGA was performing well in the preseason. He outplayed Nick Williams, who won the final roster spot and should have made the team. The mistake in releasing him came back to haunt the Falcons as Davis was claimed by the Cleveland Browns.

The receiver-needy Browns now have Davis on their 53-man roster and he could wind up contributing for them.
