Let’s All Stay Calm: The Atlanta Falcons will be Fine
Though the Atlanta Falcons have things to work on, after a win on Sunday at Chicago, maybe a gritty win might be the best thing for the team.
Over the past couple of days, I’ve been reading tweets from fans, power rankings and sports shows. The reaction to the Atlanta Falcons gritty win against the Chicago Bears on Sunday has been mixed, to say the least.
Many fans aren’t panicking. However, there are some that have concerns. Most of that concern is pointed at the direction of new offensive coordinator, Steve Sarkisian. Many are calling him too conservative and even Hall of Fame running back, Ladainian Tomlinson said on the NFL Network that the Falcons “didn’t look comfortable in the new offense.”

Then there are those are saying the Falcons look vulnerable after “barely” beating a Chicago Bears team, on the road to be exact.
I say all this to say…Let’s all calm down.
Think about this for a second: The Falcons won for the first time in Chicago in 33 years.
33 years. The last time the Falcons won in Chicago was 1984. I may be in the minority, but this was an excellent win for the Falcons. Yes, they do have things to work on from the getting the run offense going, fixing the rush defense and getting that ball to explosive receiver Julio Jones a lot more — especially when in the red zone.
But in the end, they found a way to get it done in a place they haven’t won in three decades. It will take time to get adjusted to Sark’s offense, just like it did for Kyle Shanahan’s offense. This defense will only get better.
Heck, they are already the 15th ranked defense after being ranked near the bottom to the season last year. So, we should all just take a deep breath and “R-E-L-A-X”, in the words of a famous quarterback we happen to be playing on Sunday.
Maybe, this was just the gritty win that Falcons needed and for that, we should be excited about what’s to come next.
