Atlanta Falcons: 3 Players whose stock dropped in Week 6 loss
By Randy Gurzi
2. Grady Jarrett, DT
The game felt like it was getting away from the Falcons. With a 17-0 lead now sitting at 17-7, Miami was driving again. The defense needed a big play, and middle linebacker Deion Jones delivered. In the red zone, Jones picked off a pass from Cutler and ended the drive. However, flags were flying.

A roughing the passer call on defensive tackle Grady Jarrett was one of the two penalties — the other was an illegal block after the pick. What was worse was how blatant it was. Jarrett took two full steps after the pass, and then delivered an unnecessary shot on Cutler. It was a play that seemed to stem from frustration over the changing of fortunes from the first half until then and there was no excuse for it at all.
The call on Jarrett erased the big play by Jones and as fate would have it, it led to touchdown by the Dolphins as Cutler hit receiver Jarvis Landry for a seven-yard score.
That made it a 17-14 game, and took all the momentum away pretty much for good. Jarrett was supposed to have a breakout season, but to date has been quiet, with this penalty being the most noise he’s made.
