The answer is Julio Jones, now what’s your question
By Ikaika Hall
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones as yet to score a touchdown this season. Will that change on Sunday? History tells us that it is in the Falcons best interest if Jones can get into the end zone.
My wife has been a fan of Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones since he entered the league. He is her favorite Falcons player of all-time.
In fact, last month she finally got a chance to meet him, as made evident by the 16×20 framed photo in our dining room.
While Jones is not my favorite Falcons player of all-time (that title goes to former Falcons wide receiver and punt returner Eric Metcalf), I have to believe he may eventually own nearly every Falcons receiving record (health being the only deterrent).
Aside from former Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, it is hard to argue that there has been any one single offensive Falcons player in the team’s history that has impacted the game more than Jones.

That being said, how is it that we are now five games into the 2017 NFL season and Jones has yet to score a touchdown?
The last time Jones went the first five games of a season without scoring a touchdown was in his 2011 rookie year campaign.
But in the sixth game of the 2011 season, Jones scored two touchdowns as the Falcons defeated the Indianapolis Colts with a final score of 31-7.
In fact, albeit he has only accomplished this a total of eight times in his career, whenever Julio Jones scores two touchdowns in a regular season game, the Falcons are undefeated.
And the last time Jones scored two touchdowns in a playoff game (2016 season), the Falcons defeated the Green Bay Packers 44-21.
Now, I am no math whiz. I only took one math course in college and I barely passed with a C-. But even I can make sense of these numbers.
Bottom line, the Falcons need to get the ball to Jones. Specifically, Jones needs to score touchdowns.
I understand that teams, specially the New England Patriots and their head coach Bill Belichick, will scheme to neutralize a team’s best offensive player. But that is simply a part of the NFL.
whenever Julio Jones scores two touchdowns in a regular season game, the Falcons are undefeated.
Despite opposition, the Falcons need to rise to the occasion and execute.
Maneuver Jones around the line of scrimmage. Send him in motion. Have him line up in the slot. Place him in the backfield. (Former Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan was great at doing this).
If current Atlanta offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian cannot figure out how to combat defensive schemes and get Julio Jones involved more this season, then not only will the Falcons be in jeopardy of losing against the Patriots this Sunday, they will be in jeopardy of missing the playoffs this season.
If the Falcons can find a way to get Jones into the end zone twice this Sunday, history tells us Atlanta will come out victorious. And this victory could be the spark the team needs to find it’s dominate offensive momentum.

That spark has a name. That name is Quintorris Lopez “Julio” “Jet” Jones.
