No. 2: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Every season I try and like the Buccaneers. I really do.

However, this is a team that just takes one step forward and two steps back.

I’ll be honest, on paper, the Buccaneers have a nice roster. I just don’t trust them to win games. This is year four of the Jameis Winston project. After being drafted 1st overall in 2014, what has Winston done to truly prove to the front office that he is “the guy?”

I will admit that Winston’s statistics aren’t bad. I would argue, however, that they don’t scream franchise quarterback. In his first three seasons, the Heisman-winning quarterback has tossed 69 touchdowns and 44 interceptions. His completion percentage has jumped from bad (58.3) to good (63.8), while his yards per attempt remains pedestrian, even after three years in the league.

The fate of the Buccaneers lies in Winston’s hands (or should I say right arm?). As he goes, they go.

If Winston is unable to make a leap this season, I’d project another bottom of the division finish for the pirates of Florida.
