In the 4th round, the Falcons made another good pick with OLB De’Vondre Campbell from Minnesota. Campbell has been a solid piece for the Falcons defense as he is a fast linebacker who is good in coverage and can provide a change up in the pass rush; selecting a player like Campbell in the 4th round is a steal. Through three seasons, Campbell has 234 tackles, 159 solo, 3.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 11 pass deflections, and an interception.

Unfortunately, he is the odd man out in this group. I do not want to see Campbell leave this team but he will likely get a better deal with another team in free agency. The Falcons are also going to be tight in cap space because they need to give extensions to Deion Jones and Keanu Neal. Campbell’s minimum contract is going to be $67 Million over five years because that is what Anthony Barr‘s contract is. Campbell even tweeted that he believes he is better than Barr.

Given the need to resign three Pro Bowlers,  Campbell is going to be the odd man out from this group. Knowing this going into the 2019 NFL Draft, Dimitroff should give serious thought to drafting Devin White out of LSU.
