Four Atlanta Falcons you should include on your 2019 fantasy team

Fantasy Football is gigantic among most NFL fan bases and the Atlanta Falcons have several that you will want to consider as you start to prepare for your draft.

Blogging Dirty recently sat down with Fantasy football expert Beau Johnson, host of 2 Dudes, Same Fantasy and asked him if there were Atlanta Falcons players worth putting on your draft boards.

Beau stated that Julio would obviously go in every leagues first round. Given the number of yards that he produces years after year makes him a prime target for fantasy players. Also, be on the lookout for wide receiver Calvin Ridley who Beau believes may be the most fantasy productive player on the Falcons roster.

As a rookie in 2018, Ridley had 10 touchdowns and was among the top 10 in the NFL; he led all rookies in that category. With a year under his belt coupled with the amount of attention that Julio receives on a play-by-play basis, could mean an even bigger production year for the second year pro out of Alabama.

When looking for running backs, Beau says everyone should consider whomever backs up Devonta Freeman. This should come as no surprise. Someone is going to have to fill the void left by Tevin Coleman and Freeman is not an every down running back. This should mean plenty of carries for his backup in 2019 and ultimately that can score you many points in a fantasy league.

Lastly, Beau suggests looking at tight end Austin Hooper in the late rounds of your fantasy draft. Hooper is coming off of his first pro bowl season and is becoming a reliable red zone target for Matt Ryan much like Tony Gonzalez was early in Matt’s career. Teams will be spread out trying to cover Julio and Calvin, which will leave Hooper with a favorable match up anywhere on the field.

With this potential firepower on offense, I find it hard to leave Matt Ryan out of any Fantasy discussion. If Ridley, Julio and Hooper are going to potentially bring some fantasy owner a lot of success this season, the guy throwing them the ball will as well. Matt may not be your first choice in QB, but depending on the match-up that week, he may be a guy you have on your roster.
