Players that should not wear a Falcons uniform in 2020
By Ross Terrell
The only person safe on this squad is the long snapper. Josh Harris has done nothing wrong. There are no bad snaps, holding penalties, or false starts coming from him. In fact, he’s one of the most consistent players on this team.
With that being said. Bye-bye Matts.
The fans wanted Matt Bryant back and they got him but the magic just hasn’t been the same. His extra point shank cost the team a chance at overtime or potentially winning and he hasn’t looked the part.
If Bryant retires, he rides off with dignity. A possible Hall of Fame career himself and some memories that will last a lifetime. After Bosher went on injured reserve, the Falcons punting has actually gotten… better.
Bosher has an uncanny ability to get punts blocked and his leg strength doesn’t do too much when it comes to needing to flip the field. Save for his one highlight tackle against Kenjon Barner last year, he hasn’t been too impressive.
As for Barner, he’s just a victim of the new NFL. The league has effectively eliminated kickoffs from the game and punt returns seem impossible to pull off without a penalty. Barner doesn’t crack this running back rotation so what are you keeping on the team for?
It’s time for the Falcons to rebuild. They have enough pieces and veterans in place to make it a smooth one and even become better unlike the neighboring birds the Atlanta Hawks.
But after back-to-back disappointing seasons, some new blood is much needed in this Atlanta Falcons Brotherhood.
