The Atlanta Falcons were not done any favors by the NFL when the league scheduled their games for the 2020 season. It is a difficult schedule filled with playoff-caliber teams, and possibly just as scary, opportunities for trap games.

The Atlanta Falcons have three trap games scattered throughout the season that the coaches and players have to prepare for as they would any other game on the schedule. This is what makes the trap game so dangerous. It is a phenomenon that sports fans across the world hate and circle on their calendars to keep an eye on.

It happens in every sport, every season, to any team.

Whether one team overlooks another, is coming off of a hard-fought game, or throughout the season for teams other abundance of possibilities, the trap game continuously causes upsets across the board every year. The NFL especially has a knack for setting up trap games, and more often than not, these games end up playing a big part in playoff seeding or squandering playoff chances.

Look no further than the 2016 season when the Atlanta Falcons lost to the 5-11 San Diego Chargers. The team had lost a hard-fought and controversial game against the Seattle Seahawks and had the Green Bay Packers coming up in two weeks. The Chargers were not a good team and ended up beating the eventual NFC Champions in Atlanta, the very same team that gave the Cleveland Browns their one win during that season.

With that being said, let’s take a look at three trap games in 2020 that the Atlanta Falcons have to be wary of.
