The Atlanta Falcons will try to safely navigate 2020 despite on-going pandemic.

The Atlanta Falcons have had one of the best offseasons they’ve had in years. They drafted well and were able to pick up two players that will be instrumental in their success going forward. It finally seems like this team could actually do some great things this year.

The Atlanta Falcons have one more big obstacle to tackle this offseason and it’s one that very few have been able to get a hold of, COVID-19. Teams across the league have already been hit by COVID-19. The Detroit Lions have been hit by COVID in a major way when Matt Stafford tested positive.

Every person on the team will be key to a successful season. No one player that mimics the talent of Stafford has been placed on the Falcons reserve/COVID 19 list but that doesn’t mean the Falcons have not been affected by this.

Atlanta Falcons have had several players test positive already for COVID-19

Jaylinn Hawkins, Keith Smith, Jamal Carter, Danny Etling, Tyler Davison, and Foye Oluokun have been added to the Falcons list this past week.

To those from the outside, it might not seem like a big deal because none of these players are Matt Ryan or Julio Jones but they are important pieces. Davison was part of the defensive line rotation and Oluokun was slated to replace De’Vondre Campbell in the starting lineup.

There have been players opting out of playing this season in order to minimize the risk of contracting COVID-19. The Patriots have bee hit the hardest so far with eight players opting to sit out this season.

The Falcons haven’t had anyone opt out as of yet but it would be foolish to think that the thought hast crossed anyone’s mind as we approach the Wednesday deadline for players to notify their respective teams.

Next. Falcons have to drastically improve red-zone scoring in 2020. dark

The Atlanta Falcons finally seem to have something special brewing for the upcoming season and it would be a shame if they never had the chance to go out and make something happen.
