Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett is ready for Sunday.

The 3-6 Atlanta Falcons will travel to New Orleans this week to play the 7-2 Saints. It is no secret the Falcons-Saints rivalry is one of the best rivalries in football. The Falcons are currently a five-point underdog which means nothing because last year the 1-7 Atlanta Falcons dominated the 7-1 Saints in New Orleans.

The big news about this week is the New Orleans Saints will be without Drew Brees meaning former Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston will get the start on Sunday.

For Atlanta to win Sunday they will need an amazing performance from their best defensive player, Grady Jarrett. Luckily for the Falcons, Grady Jarrett has a favorable matchup this week against the interior of the Saints offensive line.

The Saints interior line is led by Erik McCoy at center with Andrus Peat and rookie Cesar Ruiz at guard. Peat and Ruiz have been struggling this season which should provide Grady Jarrett with plenty of opportunities.

Grady Jarrett has had a lot of success against the Saints.

Last season in the game against New Orleans Grady Jarrett had a monster game with 2.5 sacks in the Falcons 26-9 win. Jarrett needs to carry over that production to give the Atlanta Falcons a chance to win.

So far this season Grady Jarrett has accumulated 2.5 sacks on the season for the Falcons through nine games. Jarrett is due for a monster game after racking up a career-high 7.5 sacks last season.

Sacks do not always tell the story for defensive tackles because they are double-teamed the most and the Falcons defensive ends have been shaking with injuries to Dante Fowler and Takkarist McKinley‘s meltdown.

This is going to be a difficult game for the Falcons because this is the first time Jameis Winston is starting a game for the Buccaneers.

Hopefully, Grady can lead the way with a monster performance on Sunday.

Next. Falcons have better talent on offense than the Saints. dark
