Not trading away players when they had value.

The last action that caused the Atlanta Falcons downfall was not trading away players. The Atlanta Falcons had the chance to receive a bunch of draft capital, but Thomas Dimitroff and Dan Quinn decided not to trade anyone away to keep their jobs.

Obviously, that plan did not work Thomas Dimitroff and Dan Quinn were fired and the Atlanta Falcons did not receive any draft capital.

The players the Atlanta Falcons should have traded around the 2018/2019 trade deadlines are Vic Beasley, Takkarist McKinley, Devonta Freeman, and Austin Hooper.

Beasley should have been traded at the 2018 trade deadline as there were reports the Falcons would receive a second-round pick. Instead, the Atlanta Falcons tried to trade him at the 2019 trade deadline and could not even receive a sixth or seventh-round pick.

At the 2019 trade deadline, there were reports teams were heavily interested in Austin Hooper and Devonta Freeman. Reports claimed teams were offering a second-round pick for Hooper and a fourth-round pick for Freeman.

Neither one of those players are on the roster and 2020 and the Falcons let them go receiving nothing in return.

The last player the Atlanta Falcons failed to trade away is Takkarist McKinley. Takk even tweeted his frustration about them not trading him and was later cut. Reports claimed there were second-round offers for Takk around the 2019 trade deadline.

Takk has not produced a quality season and Dimitroff should have been fired right then and there not taking that deal. Rich McKay also showed why he needs to be fired not trading away Takk when he did not want to be there.

With the draft capital, the Atlanta Falcons could have received they would be in a much better position going into the 2020 and 2021 NFL seasons.
