NFL Hall of Fame pass rusher Kevin Greene passed away Monday at the age of 58.

Any longtime Atlanta Falcons fan can tell you just how dominant Kevin Greene was in his 23 games against the franchise. No matter how good the Falcons offensive line was, Greene was better – a lot better.

Greene faced the Falcons 23 times in his career – more than he played any other team. In those 23 games, Greene led teams went 13-10 and he was a huge reason why. In those 23 career games against the Falcons, he recorded 28.5 sacks of the 160 he had in his career.

During his career, Kevin Greene had 40 games where he recorded two or more sacks of the opposing quarterback, nine of them came against the Falcons, and three of those nine games he recorded at least three sacks.

Just to show how dominant Kevin Greene was when facing the Falcons – he had nine games of recording at least two sacks and just seven career games against the franchise where he recorded none.

Kevin Greene dominated this franchise for a long time.

His first multi-sack game against the Atlanta Falcons took place on October 9, 1988, when he played for the Rams. He had three sacks in a 33-0 win. His last multi-sack performance against the Falcons took place on November 28, 1999, when he was with the NFC South rival Carolina Panthers. In that game, Greene recorded 2.5 sacks in a 34-28 win for Carolina.

Greene’s first sack against the Atlanta Falcons back on October 12, 1986, at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium in a Falcons 26-14 win, and his last recorded sack against the Falcons came on previously mentioned November 28, 1999, when he recorded 2.5 sacks in a 34-28 win for Carolina.

Kevin Greene was a Hall of Famer on and off the field and someone that all NFL fans will truly miss.
