Atlanta Falcons receive Quenton Nelson

Matt Ryan has needed some form of protection for the longest time. That running game that was instrumental in the Falcons enjoying the best run of success in franchise history at the beginning of the 2010s has been missing longer than the Saints secondary in fourth-quarter playoff games.

Quenton Nelson might be the best offensive lineman in football at just 24 years of age.

Since Quenton Nelson has been in the league, he has had 1,946 pass protection snaps and he’s only allowed three sacks, Matt Ryan has never had that type of protection in his life.

The inside running game would instantly become better which would lead to the play-action working better than it ever has. If the chance came up for the Falcons to trade that pick to bring in Quenton Nelson, this would be a no-brainer.

What the Colts would do with that fourth overall pick shouldn’t even matter to Falcons fans. If the Colts wanted to draft another quarterback for an insurance policy for Wentz, they can go ahead and do that. If the Colts wanted to use that pick to trade down good for them, but this is a trade the Falcons would not be able to turn down.
