1. The Falcons aren’t drafting a QB with the No. 4 overall pick

The Falcons have made their decision with this contract restructure: They are riding with Matt Ryan for at least the next two seasons, most likely through the end of his contract.

We’ve seen countless NFL Mock Drafts predicting that the Falcons will take a quarterback with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, but that’s not going to be the case.

The Falcons have made it clear that they believe they can win with Ryan at the helm.

That means the franchise will be looking to build around Ryan and make the roster stronger to try and compete over the course of the next few seasons. You don’t do that by drafting a backup QB.

Atlanta is going to look for a player who can come in and start immediately. They need immediate impact players in the first portion of this draft and this contract restructure made that absolutely clear.
