Scenario 3: Trade #4 overall for three top 45 picks

This one is unlikely but one that could potentially make some sense for both sides. The Jaguars would still be taking Trevor Lawrence at #1 overall but have the capital to jump right back into the top five for another cornerstone player.

The Jaguars hold the 25th overall pick they acquired from the Rams in the Jalen Ramsey trade along with the first pick in the second round and the 45th overall pick (from Minnesota)

The Jaguars might not be inclined whatsoever to move back inside the top five and use the abundance of picks they have in the exact location they currently sit but this would be huge for the Falcons.

Moving backward to acquire three big selections, that would make it four picks within in 20 spots of each other from the late first to mid-second round, which would most certainly allow them to fill out some true gaping holes on this roster.

The Dolphins could also be involved in this scenario with the capital they have but following the trade with the 49ers, they seem quite happy with their future selections considering they fell short of the playoffs by one game a season ago and moving back to one spot below where they just were doesn’t make much sense.

When you read these three scenarios there truly isn’t a way the Falcons could have a bad opening night of the draft regardless of how off the wall they may seem.

This draft is important for Atlanta with elite long-term franchise players Julio Jones and Matt Ryan entering their later years, entering the year at ages 32 and 36 respectively and the right moves could set them up for another deep playoff run in a shorter time than people think.
