Atlanta Falcons Need 3: Finding an identity as a team and organization
Look, I understand that many of you couldn’t care less about ‘establishing culture’ or ‘creating an identity.’
That being said, every single team that has had success in the recent years of the NFL has found its identity in some way or another.
When you think of successful teams in past years- the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, etc.- they all have attributes that come to mind. They all played to their strengths and hid their weaknesses.
The Falcons haven’t had an identity- other than being made fun of constantly for choking- in years. This team needs to find its identity and its confidence. That all starts with establishing culture and the scheming at the top. You’ve got to have ‘buy in.’
People can say it doesn’t matter all they want, but the truth is that it does.
Winners are comfortable in their identity and know how they win ballgames. Losers wander around and wonder.
