Atlanta Falcons fans need to stop disrespecting Julio Jones

The most recent events when it comes to Julio Jones have blinded many Atlanta Falcons fans of his incredible legacy with the team, which should not ever be forgotten.

Julio Jones has been revered as one of the greatest players in NFL history, which cannot be forgotten when we talk about his name. He has put everything he has into the Atlanta Falcons organization for the past decade, he does not deserve the hate that many have been giving him.

Atlanta Falcons fans call Julio Jones names like “Foolio” is exactly what cannot happen.

Julio Jones said what he said on Skip and Shannon, about wanting off of the Atlanta Falcons, whether he knew or he did not know he was living, he said it. However, that is one mistake in a decade of nothing but class from the superstar wide receiver.

It does certainly seem like Julio did not know that Shannon Sharpe was on live TV when he talked to him. People say things to their friends, or in this case their “friends”, that they would not say elsewhere.

Julio Jones does not keep track of when or if Shannon Sharpe is live at certain times of the day. He probably even forgets the fact that Shannon is a big part of sports television. Julio is certainly not spending his time watching TV in his free time.

Julio Jones will eventually be a part of the Hall of Fame, and a member of the Atlanta Falcons Ring of Honor. He will forever be known as one of the greatest pass catchers to ever play and be known first and foremost as an Atlanta Falcon.

Julio has been nothing but a superstar on the field, while also not acting like one off the field. This was the first time he has done something a little controversial. In fact what player has not done anything like this?

Certainly, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers have done things recently that are controversial.

When Julio sat out of some of the offseason events a few years back, it was because he was not being paid as a top ten wide receiver, even though he was the best in the league. You cannot blame him for that, and it should never be held against him.

Julio Jones gave everything he had to the Atlanta Falcons.

Julio Jones has had some of the greatest single game, and season-long performances in the history of the NFL. Including having one of the greatest performances in super bowl history. His stats in that super bowl may not show it, but he put every ounce of effort possible into that game, he wanted it more than anyone.

It is time for Atlanta Falcons fans to get past the recent events and remember all that he did for this team, and all he stood for. Stop disrespecting Julio Jones.
