Atlanta Falcons: Three college players Atlanta should scout this weekend
By Nick Halden
The Atlanta Falcons are preparing to take on the Tampa Bay Bucs giving Atlanta fans the need for a distraction. Saturday will provide plenty of interesting college matchups for Falcons fans with Clemson taking on Georgia Tech and Georgia taking on South Carolina.
Not only are there interesting matchups there are players Atlanta fans and scouts should be paying close attention to. For a team that appears to be truly bad, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for the Falcons to begin scouting who they want to target with their first-round pick.
If the first game was any indication it may be a long season for Atlanta fans who will turn their focus to the draft and who might help change the Falcons’ misfortunes.
Headed into next season’s draft the interesting thing for Atlanta will be the options. They could add to literally any position group. Defensively Atlanta could use pass rushers and any and all help they could find in the secondary.
Offensively Atlanta needs offensive line help or they could opt to plan for life after Matt Ryan. Ryan is thirty-six this season and is likely entering the twilight of his career if the opportunity presents itself Atlanta should draft someone to learn under the veteran while they have him.
Regardless of who they choose they will be in a position to take the best player available with what will likely be yet another top-five pick.
