2. Could Calvin Ridley benefit from Atlanta bringing in Riley Ridley

Another takeaway from Atlanta’s week two loss was the fact Atlanta needed to shore up their receiving core after losing Julio Jones. Matt Ryan was throwing the ball to Christian Blake and Lee Smith in this game it was obvious he needed targets aside from Kyle Pitts.

Calvin Ridley has been off to a bit of a slow start, could he benefit from Atlanta bringing his brother in? Riley Ridley was a star at Georgia before spending time with the Chicago Bears. He failed to make an impact with the Bears and didn’t generate much interest when Chicago opted to move on.

For Atlanta, this is a wildcard move. Could it help Calvin? Is Riley any worse than Atlanta’s current 3rd and 4th receiver options? Riley Ridley would be a no-risk option for Atlanta who could benefit their team.

He isn’t a high-impact player but one Matt Ryan can certainly utilize if he is finding a way to get the ball to Blake and Smith. Riley certainly has more foot speed and big-play capability than either of the aforementioned pass catchers.

Bringing the Ridley brothers together perhaps is a reach for a fun storyline amidst a 0-2 start for a rebuilding team. Perhaps a storyline that would truly benefit the offense and give the Falcons much-needed depth.
