With two second-round picks, Atlanta must target a wide receiver and cornerback

The Falcons wide receivers have been a major disappointment, so have their corners not named A.J. Terrell—the team must address these two positions heavily in the offseason.

While the Falcons should take the best available at either of these positions with the higher pick of their two second-rounders, cornerback would be ideal as it is hurting the most right now.

It is certainly impossible to know how the draft will play out at this point, keep an eye out for guys like Roger McCreary from Auburn, Noah Daniels from TCU, or Ahmad Gardner from Cinncinati.

The team must find a reliable option to pair with their rising star, A.J. Terrell. Fabian Moreau has been horrible this year, and while he should not have been relied on as much as he has, this certainly has been his worst season in the NFL.

For the wide receiver position, Calvin Ridley has been as disappointing as possible, and the same can be said for Russell Gage. While Ridley will likely return to his normal self, the Falcons need to find a physical presence to help out Ridley.

Not to mention, Russell Gage will be a free agent, if Atlanta can find a receiver to take over one of the outside spots, then they should attempt to sign Gage to another contract so that he can go back to flourishing as the slot receiver.

Fortunately for Atlanta, this year’s draft—much like previous years—is littered with talented pass catchers. Think about guys like Justyn Ross from Clemson, George Pickens from Georgia, and John Metchie from Alabama. Those are just three guys from three of the most well-known schools, there are many others to consider.
