3 free agents the Atlanta Falcons should sign if they’re serious about the playoffs

The Atlanta Falcons have a lot of holes on the roster. This isn’t new information. Injuries and absences have only added to their concerns with Calvin Ridley, Dante Fowler, and Isaiah Oliver all missing significant time. Despite all of this, though, the Falcons find themselves at 4-4. What is more impressive is that they somehow occupy the final Wild Card spot in the NFC and are on track to make the playoffs.

There have been some outstanding performances this season, most noticeably from Matt Ryan, Cordarrelle Patterson, Kyle Pitts, Grady Jarrett, and the ever-improving AJ Terrell. Many expect the second half of the season to be significantly more difficult than the first, though, with some tough games upcoming.

With that in mind, could the Falcons look to add to their roster? They’re in a tight spot financially, with just over $1.5 million in available cap space. As teams show each year, though, there are ways to create funds, often by pushing larger cap hits to future years. Now that the trade deadline has passed, who are some available free agents who could help the Falcons in their playoff push?
