Mike Davis has looked like he has forgotten how to play since joining Atlanta

There was a lot of hype when the Atlanta Falcons signed Mike Davis to start off the Terry Fontenot era.

He is a huge running back who was one of the best power runners last season with the Carolina Panthers. He has been a journeyman for much of his career but seemed to finally find a role with the Panthers leading to the best contract of his career with Atlanta.

To say he has disappointed is an understatement, he has simply looked like he has forgotten how to play the position.

Granted, he has not benefitted from a good offensive line at all, in fact, it has been probably the worst run-blocking offensive line in the entire league, but that does not take away the fact that he still looks lost when he runs the ball.

Whether he simply slips or runs right into a huge defensive lineman, it has not been pretty for the Falcons starting running back.

He has received fewer and fewer reps every week in favor of Cordarrelle Patterson, Wayne Gallman, and more recently, Qadree Ollison.

It seems Mike Davis’s time in Atlanta will be limited to one year, putting his NFL career in jeopardy.
