1. Matt Ryan trails Phillip Rivers by 68 completions to tie Rivers for the 6th most completions of all time

A record that looked sure to fall last season seems likely to have to wait until week one of next season for Matt Ryan. Ryan currently sits 6th all-time with 5,209-passes completed. He will easily pass Rivers by next season it seems unlikely the veteran will average thirty-four completions over the next two weeks but he will certainly put himself in a position to easily pass Rivers in week one of next season.

When Ryan’s career ends he will almost certainly be well within the top five for passes completed. He trails current fifth place holder Ben Roethlisberger by only 177 completions and should pass him easily if Ben retires this off-season as expected.

From there the climb gets significantly steeper with Brady sitting in first with 7,200-completions a number Ryan isn’t likely ever to touch. Fourth place is within reach if Ryan’s career continues at its current pace. Peyton Manning sits in fourth place with 6,125-completions with Brett Farve and Drew Brees rounding out the top four.

Ryan isn’t Farve or Manning but the fact he will end his career in their statistical company speaks to his greatness and longevity.
