2. Nick Foles is one of the most confusing backup quarterbacks in the league and an interesting wildcard option

Nick Foles outgunned Tom Brady and won a Super Bowl in 2017 he put the Falcons out of the playoffs and did everything asked of him. He caught a touchdown pass in a Super Bowl in one of the most exciting underdog stories we have watched in the last decade.

Foles has made stops at Jacksonville and Chicago since then and failed to be the answer at either stop. Despite pulling off an upset win over Tom Brady yet again with the Bears Foles struggled and has been benched in favor of Andy Dalton and Justin Fields this season.

However, there is a bit of a wildcard factor of bringing in Foles. If the Falcons were forced to take a plunge into the free-agent market at the quarterback position Foles does have one accolade the Falcons should have a Super Bowl win over Tom Brady.

There is also the memorable 2013 season in which Foles passed for 27-touchdowns and threw only 2-interceptions. There is also the fact a year after winning the Super Bowl Foles attempted another run in the playoffs and was a dropped pass away from continuing his underdog narrative.

Perhaps all three of these situations are outliers and Foles is the player he was with the Jaguars and Bears two of the last three years. However, if forced to take a chance on a quarterback what would the Falcons have to lose in finding out?
