If Hayden Hurst leaves in free agency, the Falcons must replace him

The Atlanta Falcons have their number one tight end, no one is going to argue that. Kyle Pitts is an emerging superstar, he is young and extremely talented. Expect him to be a Falcon for a long time.

Even though the team has their number one tight end, that does not mean they won’t sign a tight end in free agency, in fact, you should expect them to.

Hayden Hurst is set to test the free agency market, and that could be a big loss, especially for an offense that loves to run multiple tight end sets. They currently do not have someone who can step in for Hurst.

Not to mention, their main blocking tight end, Lee Smith, retired from the NFL.

Terry Fontenot is in a position where he has to sign at least one tight end. Just having Kyle Pitts, Parker Hesse and a few other guys who have almost no NFL experience will not cut it, especially for an offense that is led by Arthur Smith.

There is still the potential that Hayden Hurst will resign with the Falcons, but at this point, it does not seem likely.

So, who are some potential targets for the Falcons to sign at the tight end position?
