Cordarrelle Patterson was a key addition to the Atlanta Falcons offense last year. He provided a spark that no one envisioned when he signed a one-year deal with the team last offseason. It was nothing short of a breakout year for the former first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings.

However, the bad news is that he only signed a one-year deal, so he is in danger of moving on from the team, but a recent report should bring hope to the Falcons electing to bring him back.

Steve Wyche reports the Falcons would love to have Patterson back

As mentioned before, Cordarrelle Patterson was a key player for the Atlanta Falcons offense in 2021. The team needs to resign him and it appears that they already know that according to NFL Network’s, Steve Wyche:

Amongst all the news about the Falcons plans when it comes to the salary cap, Wyche mentions how the team wants to bring back Cordarrelle Patterson, which is very good news for all Falcons fans.

Not only would the Falcons want him back, but Patterson has made it crystal clear that he wants to be a Falcon for the rest of his career.

So, what more could you want than each side wanting each other?

It will be interesting to see how much Patterson will go for as he was able to rack up over 1,000 scrimmage yards for the first time in his long career in the NFL.

Arthur Smith has been the only coach so far that has been able to use Patterson in the right way. In the past, he has been used strictly as a limited offensive player and a dynamic return specialist.

Certainly, the offense last year was lacking consistent targets outside of Kyle Pitts and Cordarrelle Patterson, so without Patterson that would only get much worse.

We all can only hope that the two sides come to an agreement sooner than later, he is a big piece of the offense that would be extremely difficult to replace.
