4. Cam Newton

How much has Cam Newton truly regressed and how much blame belongs on a terrible Carolina Panthers offense? Newton wasn’t close to the same player he had been in seasons past in his return to Carolina. The quarterback couldn’t throw with any consistency and struggled to lead the Carolina offense.

So what’s the argument for bringing him to Atlanta?  See option two and option for four, if Atlanta is going with a veteran starter and not drafting a quarterback why not give Cam a shot? At the very least the former rival will be entertaining and must-watch every Sunday. Whether this is for good or bad reasons is debatable and depends on which version of Newton showed up in Atlanta.

There is no denying his energy or talent, however, and Atlanta could do worse than Newton. Perhaps with a full off-season to study and prepare with an offense Newton could take a step forward and find his way back to being a capable starter. If not Atlanta is a step closer to a top draft pick to address the position and the Falcons will have given their fans an electric player who will keep the fan’s interest while Atlanta’s focus shifts to the future.
