The Atlanta Falcons have made another move at the wide receiver position following the signings of KhaDarel Hodge and Auden Tate.

They are bringing in a speedy wide receiver who has played with the Panthers, Cardinals, Patriots, and most recently with the Bears.

Falcons signing Damiere Byrd to a contract

Damiere Byrd may not be a well-known name amongst Atlanta Falcons fans but he certainly can provide some juice to the Falcons’ wide receiver room.

Byrd throughout his six-year career has accumulated 117 catches for 1,421 yards.

While he may not have great stats throughout his career, he still has posted a season with just over 600 yards when he was with the New England Patriots. It seems he will get his best opportunity yet as he joins a Falcons wide receiver room that lacks a top-notch player.

Byrd will join Olamide Zaccheaus, Frank Darby, Auden Tate, KhaDarel Hodge, Christian Blake, and Austin Trammel.

It has been talked about numerous times before, but the Falcons have one of the worst receiver cores in the league. The Falcons and Packers are seemingly competing for the worst receiver corps in the league.

Damiere Byrd will bring likely be the Falcons’ main deep target, provided that he makes the roster, as he is an extremely fast player, it is much of the reason he has stuck around the league this long.

Hopefully, this is not the last of Atlanta’s moves at the position, they need to get younger and more talented for presumptive quarterback Marcus Mariota.

They seem to be in a good position to add that talent in the upcoming draft as they own numerous picks within the top-100 picks. With an extremely talented group of receivers coming into the league, Atlanta needs to take full advantage of it.

While Damiere Byrd is not a premium signing, he can still bring some speed to this Falcons offense.
