2. Deion Jones

It would not be at all surprising to see Deion Jones traded before this year’s draft considering his cap hit.  Jones is scheduled to count for $20-million against the cap the second-largest cap hit behind Grady Jarrett. Atlanta could move Jones in an effort to free up cap space next season and give the team a chance to start Mykal Walker.

Deion has put together enough impressive tape for Atlanta to expect a mid-round pick for the former LSU backer.  Jones is one of the last remaining building blocks from Atlanta’s 2016 run to the Super Bowl and should be moved if the right trade offer arises. He isn’t a fit for the rebuilding Falcons considering his regression in play and his contract. Even if the Falcons head into the season with Jones on the roster it wouldn’t be shocking to see him moved before the trade deadline. With Grady Jarrett’s future in doubt, it appears as if Jake Matthews could be the longest-tenured Falcons by the season’s end.  Deion Jones has had some great moments with Atlanta but due to his contract and the situation the team is in it is time to give the linebacker a chance to win elsewhere and for Atlanta to find long-term options at the position.
