3. Atlanta Falcons

Marcus Mariota may have been signed as the starter but if the Falcons don’t draft a quarterback they shouldn’t be ruled out as a landing spot for Baker. Mariota is under contract for two seasons and could be used in the offense the same way he was with the Raiders. There is nothing Mariota has put on tape that should hand him the starting job in Atlanta. Bringing Baker in allows two players that have shown promise but never lived up to expectations to have the ability to compete and prove they are deserving of a starting job in this league.

Atlanta has parted ways with Matt Ryan and for the first time in fourteen years needs a long-term answer at the position. If they are waiting for the next off-season to draft or trade for a franchise quarterback why not give Baker a chance?

Worst case scenario Mariota beats him out for the starting job and Baker is a backup with trade value. There is also the chance he could win the job and prove to be a long-term option. Considering his value and the situation they are currently in there isn’t any reason for the team not to gamble on Baker. A player who is a proven winner and has plenty of motivation to prove he is capable of being a franchise quarterback in this league.
