3. Mohamed Sanu

Of all the potential fits left in free agency Sanu returning to Atlanta makes the most sense for both sides. If there is one thing we know about Arthur Smith and his offense it is how much he loves players who can fill more than one role.

The idea of a player who you’re never quite sure what role he is about to play or where he is going to line up is fundamental to his offense. Sanu would bring a small measure of this mentality to Atlanta.

We saw his ability as a passer in his last tenure with the Falcons running the wildcat successfully more than once. This is a skill set that would be great to add to Arthur Smith’s offense and give the team yet another wrinkle to potentially throw at a defense.

From Sanu’s perspective, Atlanta is the last place he had any success and is one of the few teams who could give him a prominent role. Since leaving Atlanta Sanu has bounced around the league and failed to find a contributing role.

He would be a great fourth option in the Atlanta receiver room and give the team a veteran voice. It is also worth considering Sanu was a fan favorite and along with Patterson, London, and Kyle Pitts would help make the Atlanta Falcons interesting even in a losing season.
