The Falcons should sign QB Jordan Ta’amu from the Tampa Bay Bandits

While the Falcons might already have their top two quarterbacks with Marcus Mariota and Desmond Ridder, giving Jordan Ta’amu another shot in the NFL could be a good idea.

Ta’amu was an excellent quarterback during his senior year at Ole Miss. He finished the season with the second-most passing yards in the SEC, finishing right behind Tua Tagovailoa. That is some good company to be in.

He came out of college undrafted and signed with the Texans but did not make it long, but he continued his career with the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL where he tore it up, then he spent time with the Chiefs, the Lions, the Chiefs again, the Lions again, the Commanders, the Panthers, and now the Tampa Bay Bandits.

He, much like other USFL players, has plenty of experience as an NFL offseason member but has not been able to stick with any team. Perhaps Arthur Smith could turn him into something as he is very similar to the team’s other passers.

He is currently leading the USFL in passing touchdowns and is second in passing yards. Ta’amu has been able to pick apart defenses as a starting quarterback, and the Falcons should bring him in as competition.
