Tennessee Titans quarterback Logan Woodside (5) comes under pressure from Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Marlon Davidson (90) during the second quarter of a preseason game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Friday, Aug. 13, 2021 in Atlanta, Ga.Gw50933 /
  • 2019: Kaleb McGary – OT – Round 1, Pick 31

  • 2020: Marlon Davidson – DE – Round 2, Pick 47

  • 2021: Jalen Mayfield – OL – Round 3, Pick 68

Obviously, the big name on this list for the Falcons is tackle Kaleb McGary. Following the excellent selection of Chris Lindstrom, Atlanta traded back into the first round to take Kaleb McGary who they thought would turn into the franchise right tackle opposite of Jake Matthews.

He has not shown that he can be that at all. The team declined his fifth-year option, so barring a breakout campaign, Kaleb will need to find a new team next offseason and will be another name on the list of linemen drafted by the Falcons that never turned out.

It feels wrong to put Marlon Davidson and Jalen Mayfield on here, they are still young and could turn into quality players but that does not mean they have not been disappointing.

Marlon was supposed to be a versatile piece for the defensive line and someone who could provide some pressure while also stuffing the run. He has played in 19 games and only recorded one tackle for loss, one sack, and one quarterback hit, which is not good at all. It also means he has as many interceptions for touchdowns as TFLs and sacks.

Jalen Mayfield as a rookie was tasked to be the starting left guard from game one and ended the year as one of the worst starting guards in the league.

As bad as it was, he played right tackle during his last year at Michigan, so it certainly was not an easy transition to the NFL. Every Falcons fan is hoping that another year will turn him into a quality player, but for now, he is the most disappointing player from the 2021 Draft Class with Richie Grant right behind him.
