3. Matt Hennessy

Replacing Alex Mack was never going to be easy but the level that Matt struggled made a difficult task even tougher for Atlanta. This season is going to be Matt’s last chance to prove he can be a long-term answer at center and provide some stability for a unit that has really struggled for Atlanta over the last three years.

The biggest question will be can Hennessy keep his job heading into the season? Drew Dalman will likely be given a chance to win the job in camp and the pre-season Matt’s experience will certainly help him but he has to show improvement from last season.

For the Falcons, finding an answer at left guard other than Jalen Mayfield will go a long way in answering whether or not Matt is the long-term answer? Mayfield’s struggles have been well covered and certainly made evaluating Matt more difficult for Atlanta last season.
