3. Win five games

The bar when it comes to finding wins this season should be understandably low for Marcus Mariota and the Atlanta Falcons. It is hard to find a single game on the Atlanta schedule to argue they should be favored in. Atlanta’s best chance at winning this season will be against the Panthers, Bears, and Seahawks.

Mariota finds a way to win those games and steal another win or two along the way the season will be a success for the veteran and this young roster. Last season Atlanta benefitted from an easy schedule and having the veteran leadership of Matt Ryan.

It is a much steeper climb for Mariota to find wins this season and despite the roster upgrades, this team is still a 5-6 win team at their best. If Mariota manages to hit all three of these goals and limit turnovers the veteran will have re-established himself as a starter in this league and have a chance to return as the Atlanta starter next season.

Winning five games may seem to be a low bar but it would be an impressive feat with a bad Atlanta roster that is already turning its attention to 2023.
