2. Marcus Mariota

Two things can be true the Atlanta Falcons’ passing attack is going to take a step back as the Atlanta Falcons offense sets itself up to be more exciting than in recent seasons. Mariota isn’t capable of making all the veteran throws and adjustments that Matt Ryan did during his tenure with Atlanta.

However, Mariota is also capable of making plays outside of the pocket and is going to bring a level of excitement to the offense that has been missing since the 2016 season. Mariota’s ability to make plays when everything is breaking down combined with the size Atlanta brought in at pass catcher is a recipe for a fun offense this season.

While it will still certainly have its frustrating moments the Falcons have put themselves in a position to take a step forward due to the help they have put around Mariota.

This is likely Mariota’s last chance at a starting job pointing to the fact he is going to let it fly from the first snap. He has had plenty of time to get healthy which was his biggest issue with the Titans and working with a coach that is familiar with his game in Arthur Smith. It is all pointing to Mariota re-establishing himself as a starting quarterback in this league and putting together a surprising season for Atlanta.
