Taylor Heinicke – Washington Commanders

Okay, not the most exciting quarterback option for the Atlanta Falcons, and at best, he might be a solid backup, but there is still potential for him to become something special.

After all, he showed his playmaking abilities on one of the biggest stages just a couple of years ago when he almost took down Tom Brady and the eventual Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He almost was a hero for Falcons fans.

The Washington Commanders (or Football Team as they were known at the time) were given no chance when they were matched up with the Bucs in the NFL Playoffs, after all, how would a journeyman QB take down the biggest name in the sport?

Well, he almost willed his team to a victory, and he did much of it by himself with his outstanding playmaking ability.

He is a mobile quarterback, which is something that seems like a priority for head coach Arthur Smith, and he has shown he can be an outstanding playmaker on the big stage.

The issue is that he has never shown the ability to play well during the regular season, at least when not playing the Atlanta Falcons.

With that, he will come cheap and it might be a low-risk, high-reward option. He will be entering his 30s by the time free agency hits, but he also plays a position that gets protected by the league.

This is probably the least likely option on this list but it is still worth thinking about.
