3. Jameis Winston

The last time the Atlanta Falcons played a team that had Winston as their starting quarterback the Falcons won the game on an interception returned for a touchdown that ended the game. Until Winston puts a full year together of protecting the football and winning there is no reason to believe he is a franchise quarterback. In his last six starts against the Atlanta Falcons Winston is 1-5 against the Falcons.

While he had a nice start last season before his injury Winston was used similar to how the 49ers used Jimmy G in San Francisco. He was a system quarterback who ran the offense efficiently but was far from the reason the team was winning.

Winston isn’t going to beat the Falcons despite having a solid roster around him Winston is far from a franchise quarterback. Marcus Mariota has the chance to outplay Winston and prove he is the better quarterback this season. Winston certainly has the career edge but has had the better weapons and offensive system around him throughout his career. Anytime Winston is on the field as the starting quarterback the Atlanta Falcons are going to have a chance to win the game.

Falcons should be open to Ridley returning next season. dark. Next
