3. Alvin Kamara

Despite Kamara’s off-season troubles, it appears the running back will start the season for the Saints and once again be the primary weapon. Kamara had his season-high 146-rushing yards against the Falcons in the team’s first matchup and followed that up by going over 100-rushing and receiving yards in the second matchup of the season.

Kamara is the key to this game for the Falcons they have to find a way to slow him consistently and force Jameis Winston to beat them. Winston hasn’t shown an ability to make plays consistently without turning the ball over.

His success with New Orleans early last season was predicated on running the football and Winston keeping the defense honest. He wasn’t needed in the same way he was in Tampa Bay and his numbers were better because of it.

If Atlanta can slow down Kamara and keep this game close it is going to force Winston to make plays and that works in Atlanta’s favor. The last time Winston took the field against the Falcons he threw a game-sealing interception. There isn’t any reason to believe Atlanta can’t force a similar mistake if they can accomplish the impossible and slow down Kamara.
